Help shape our future

The Loton Park Tennis Club management committee is working to further secure the long term viability of our amazing club.

The Club has recovered from a period of economic uncertainty experienced in the mid to late 2000s and continues to strengthen in terms of membership and finances. However, the committee is keen to take a vigilant approach to the club’s future and are wish to capture the views of members, previous members and the wider community to ensure any plans and activities are relevant and supported.

Over the last two years the committee has put careful consideration into the potential benefits and impacts of upgrading the clubhouse facilities. Impetuses included national disability requirements, limited change room facilities, limited office and storage space, congested common area on the balcony, the need for enhanced social space, and potential income through hire.

The project has progressed to a point where draft plans have been drawn and initial contact made with potential funding bodies, the City of Vincent and the Heritage Council WA. The plans can be viewed at the clubhouse and will be discussed during this consultation process.

This planning process will be used to gain your input into the general direction of the club and more specifically about the potential clubhouse upgrade.

Additional planning activities include:

·         A face to face consultation with members and past/members – 6.30pm Wednesday 14 March

·         A face to face consultation with gay/lesbian community leaders (date to be confirmed)

·         A series of one on one meetings with key agencies relevant to the future of the club

·         An independent examination of Loton Park Tennis Club’s finances, activities, and relevant documentation

·         Preparation of a final report

If you choose the survey can be anonymous. However, if you would like the committee to follow up on any of the issues you raise please feel free to leave your name and a contact number.
