Loton Park Tennis Club is officially a grass court tennis club with 6 well maintained grass courts and 2 flood-lit hard courts. Our grass court season typically takes place between October and June. In the down season, while the grass courts are closed for maintenance, play continues on the hard courts (weather permitting).
Loton Park changed its constitution in 1995 to be inclusive of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (glbt) people. Our motto: Diversity is our Advantage.
We are not exclusively glbt – we don’t ask! We just expect people to be relaxed and accepting of diversity – not a bad idea for society in general, actually.
We are located on the corner of Lord and Bulwer Streets in East Perth which is in the City of Vincent – a local government area on the edge of the city.
We lease our courts and clubhouse from the City of Vincent and are responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Club. We employ a professional grounds keeper and the grass courts are in great condition as a result.
Loton Park Tennis Club is incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act 1987 (WA) and it is managed by a Management Committee. Loton Park is affiliated with TennisWest.
Because most of our courts are grass, our main playing season operates from about early October to June each year – the exact dates depend on the weather and the state of the courts.
We provide organised social tennis (doubles and mixed doubles) on Saturdays from 1pm until about 5pm, and twilight social tennis on Wednesdays 5pm til sundown (November – March).
We also have a variety of teams competing in TennisWest Tennis League competitions.
